Likier pomarańczowy (np. cointreau, triple sec)
Description
Orange liqueur (e.g., Cointreau, triple sec) has a clear, shiny color ranging from colorless to pale gold and an intense, pure aroma of orange peel with a distinct bittersweet note. The taste combines concentrated citrus freshness with noticeable sweetness and alcohol; Cointreau is usually drier and more pronounced, while triple sec can be sweeter and lighter. Nutritionally, it is a high-calorie product rich in simple sugars, with an alcohol content typically between 15–40% by volume; it provides small amounts of aromatic compounds from citrus oils, which have antioxidant properties, but these benefits are limited by the alcohol and sugar, so it is best to use it sparingly. In the kitchen, it works well in cocktails (Margarita, Cosmopolitan), desserts, meat sauces, and cakes, as well as for flambéing, adding an intense orange aroma. It should be stored in a tightly sealed bottle in a cool, dark place away from heat sources; once opened, the aroma may gradually weaken, so it is best to use it within 1–2 years for full flavor, or optionally store it in the refrigerator for serving convenience.
