Freeze-dried raspberries
Description
Freeze-dried raspberries are intensely red, crunchy pieces or powder with a concentrated, slightly tart and sweet raspberry flavor. They retain the characteristic seeds and aroma of fresh fruit, but have a dry, crispy texture that quickly dissolves in the mouth or upon rehydration. Nutritionally, they are a source of vitamin C, fiber, and antioxidants, including anthocyanins and ellagic acid; the freeze-drying process minimizes the loss of these compounds while increasing the nutrient density per unit mass. With their low fat content and intense flavor, they serve as a healthy, low-calorie snack that supports anti-inflammatory processes and digestion. In the kitchen, they are used as a decoration and addition to yogurts, muesli, ice cream, bread, and chocolate, in smoothies, sauces, or as a flavoring in baked goods; they can also be easily rehydrated. Store in an airtight container, in a cool, dry, and dark place away from moisture; once opened, it is best to consume within a few months to maintain crunchiness and aroma.
