Passion fruit (pulp from the fruit) - optional
Description
Passion fruit, or pulp from the passion fruit, is an intensely aromatic, tropical mass with a golden-orange color filled with tiny, edible black seeds; its flavor combines intense acidity with distinct sweetness and an exotic floral-citrus note. The pulp is juicy and slightly gelatinous, giving it a pronounced character in dishes and drinks. Nutritionally, passion fruit provides vitamins C and A, fiber, and antioxidants, as well as potassium and a small amount of iron, which supports immunity, skin health, and digestion and may positively affect blood pressure. In the kitchen, passion fruit pulp pairs excellently with desserts, ice creams, sauces, dressings, cocktails, and marinades, complementing dairy products, coconut, citrus fruits, tropical fruits, as well as fish and poultry. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a few days or freeze in portions for 3–6 months; gently mix after thawing before use.
