Mascarpone
Description
Mascarpone is an Italian cream cheese with a silky, thick consistency and a delicate, slightly sweet flavor, as well as a creamy straw color that melts in your mouth and adds a subtle richness to dishes. It is a product with a high fat content, providing a lot of calories and saturated fats, but also vitamin A, small amounts of protein, and calcium; in moderation, it serves as a concentrated source of energy and influences the feeling of fullness, which is why it is worth consuming in moderation as part of a balanced diet. In the kitchen, mascarpone works perfectly in desserts like tiramisu, cheesecakes, creams, and glazes, as well as in pasta sauces, risottos, as a dip base, and an addition to fruits and honey. It should be stored in the refrigerator in a tightly sealed container, best consumed within a few days of opening; long freezing is not recommended as it disrupts the creamy texture, although thawed cheese can still be used for cooking.
