Forest fruit mix
Description
A mix of forest fruits is a colorful assortment of berries — raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, and other small fruits in intense colors ranging from red to purple to blue. The taste can be sweet and sour, aromatic, and slightly tart, with a distinct freshness and varied texture, from juicy to slightly grainy. Nutritionally, they are low in calories, rich in vitamin C, fiber, and antioxidants (anthocyanins, flavonoids), which support the circulatory system, immunity, and cognitive functions, and have anti-inflammatory effects. In the kitchen, they pair well with yogurts, oatmeal, smoothies, desserts, baked goods, and jams, as well as being a vibrant addition to meat sauces or salads. Store fresh in the refrigerator in a breathable container and do not wash until use; best consumed within 2–3 days. Freezing them spread out on a baking sheet ensures easy portioning, and the fruits retain their qualities for many months.
