Refined coconut oil
Description
Refined coconut oil has a mild, almost neutral taste and aroma, without a distinct coconut note. In its liquid state, it is light yellow, while at room temperature it takes on a white, solid appearance. It is energy-dense, mainly consisting of saturated fats, and contains a significant fraction of medium-chain fatty acids (MCT), including lauric acid; it provides calories and minimal amounts of fat-soluble vitamins, and its health impact should be assessed with moderation due to its saturated fat content. Thanks to its high smoke point, refined coconut oil is excellent for frying, baking, seasoning Asian and Caribbean dishes, as well as for baking and roasting vegetables, where its thermal stability is valued. Store in a tightly sealed container in a cool, dark place; it can be kept in the refrigerator to extend shelf life and prevent oxidation.
