Papryczka habanero
Description
Habanero pepper is a small, often vividly orange or red pepper with a characteristic, slightly boat-like shape and an intense, fruity-floral aroma, concealing a very sharp, burning heat (usually 100–350 thousand Scoville units). Its flavor combines distinct spiciness with notes of mango and citrus, making it an exceptionally bold addition to dishes. Habanero is low in calories, rich in vitamin C, provitamin A, and antioxidants, and the capsaicin it contains may support metabolism, have anti-inflammatory effects, and contribute to improved circulation. In the kitchen, it is used sparingly in salsas, sauces, marinades, Caribbean dishes, grilled meats, and exotic desserts, where it pairs wonderfully with fruits and fatty proteins. Fresh habanero can be stored in the refrigerator in a container or a neat bag for 1–2 weeks; for longer storage, it can be frozen, dried, or pickled; when cutting, it is advisable to wear gloves and avoid contact with the eyes.
