Silesian sausage
Description
Silesian sausage is a short, full, slightly curved sausage with a golden-brown, smoked skin and juicy, finely ground interior. The flavor is pronounced, meaty with a subtle hint of garlic, marjoram, and smoke, pleasantly salty but not overly spicy. Nutritional values primarily include high protein content as well as a significant amount of fat and calories; the sausage also provides iron, zinc, and B vitamins (including B12). It may support muscle recovery and prevent iron deficiencies, but it should be consumed in moderation due to its salt and saturated fat content. Silesian sausage is great for frying, baking, grilling, cooking in soups and stews, as well as for sandwiches and breakfasts. Store it in the refrigerator (0–4°C) for 1–3 days raw, 3–4 days after processing, and frozen in an airtight package for up to 2–3 months; thaw in the refrigerator.
