Cod loin
Description
Cod fillet is a juicy, light piece of meat with a delicate, slightly sweet note and a firm, flaky texture that easily falls apart when cooked. It looks appetizing as a uniform, white loin without bones, making it convenient to prepare and aesthetically pleasing on the plate. It is a source of lean protein with low fat content, providing B vitamins (including B12), selenium, and phosphorus, as well as a moderate amount of omega-3 fatty acids, which promote heart health, cognitive function, and muscle recovery. Cod fillet is great for grilling, baking, stewing, or steaming, and pairs well with citrus, butter, herbs, vegetables, and grains. Store it chilled at 4°C and consume within 1–2 days, or freeze it tightly wrapped at −18°C (preferably for up to 3 months); thaw in the refrigerator and do not refreeze.
