Maca powder

🌱 Vegetarian 🌿 Vegan

Description

Maca powder comes from the root of maca from the Andes and has a fine, dry texture and a color ranging from cream to light brown; the taste is earthy, slightly nutty-sweet with a malty note, which pairs well with fruits and cocoa. Nutritionally, maca provides carbohydrates, fiber, a small amount of protein, and minerals such as iron, calcium, and potassium, as well as B vitamins and vitamin C; traditionally considered an adaptogen, it may support energy levels, endurance, and hormonal balance, although effects are individual. Culinary uses include adding it to smoothies, oatmeal, yogurts, baked goods, energy bars, and sauces; it pairs well with banana, chocolate, nuts, and coffee. Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry, and dark place; once opened, it can be kept in the refrigerator to extend freshness (usually 6–12 months).
