Mushrooms
Description
Mushrooms have a delicate, slightly nutty flavor and a smooth, white or creamy cap surface with a short stem, making them an attractive and versatile addition to dishes. They are low in calories, a source of plant protein, fiber, B vitamins, selenium, and potassium; when exposed to light, they can provide vitamin D. Regular consumption supports feelings of fullness, metabolism, and the immune system thanks to antioxidants and mineral components. In the kitchen, mushrooms are suitable for frying, stewing, and grilling; they are perfect for soups, sauces, risottos, salads, omelets, baked dishes, and meat fillings. Before use, they should be cleaned with a brush or a damp cloth, without soaking them for too long; they are best stored in the refrigerator, loosely in a paper bag, and should be used within a few days.
