Burrata cheese
Description
Burrata is an Italian fresh cheese with a delicate, milky flavor and velvety texture; the thin outer shell of mozzarella encases a soft, creamy interior of stracciatella, slightly sweet and buttery, usually served as a white, moist "pouch." Its subtle aroma and creaminess instantly enhance dishes without overpowering other ingredients. Nutritionally, burrata provides high-quality protein, calcium, vitamins A and B12, and phosphorus, which support bones and a feeling of fullness, but it also contains saturated fats and salt, so it should be consumed in moderation. It pairs wonderfully with tomatoes, olive oil, fresh herbs, prosciutto, bread, or as a finishing touch for pizza and pasta. Store in the refrigerator in its original liquid or brine, use within 2–4 days of opening, and remove it 20–30 minutes before serving to reach room temperature.
