Orange juice
Description
Orange juice has a bright, straw-orange color, which can be clear or pulpy, with an intense citrus aroma and a sweet-sour taste that depends on the variety and ripeness of the fruit. It is refreshing, juicy, and easily combines acidity with natural sweetness. Nutritionally, it primarily provides vitamin C, folates, potassium, and antioxidants (flavonoids), as well as natural sugars and calories, which support immunity, hydration, and iron absorption from meals. In the kitchen, it works well for breakfasts, smoothies, sauces, marinades, and dressings, as well as an ingredient in desserts and alcoholic beverages, pairing well with fish, poultry, ginger, honey, and mint. Once opened, store in the refrigerator in a sealed container; freshly squeezed is best consumed within 24–48 hours, pasteurized within 3–5 days, and excess can be frozen for several months.
