Dried plums
Description
Dried plums are dark, shiny, and soft, with an intensely sweet-sour, slightly caramel flavor with a hint of oak, making them an aromatic addition both raw and after processing. They are rich in fiber, natural sugars, potassium, B vitamins, and vitamin K, as well as antioxidants; regular, moderate consumption may support digestion due to natural sorbitol, contribute to maintaining electrolyte balance, and provide valuable nutrients without added fat. In the kitchen, dried plums work well as a snack, an ingredient in muesli, dried fruit mixes, and baked goods, an addition to meat sauces, stews, salads, and desserts, as well as a base for compotes or purees after soaking. Store them in an airtight container in a cool, dark place; in the refrigerator, you can extend their freshness, and before using them in dishes that require softness, you can briefly soak them in warm water or alcohol.
