Large wheat tortillas
Description
Large wheat tortillas are thin, flexible, and slightly golden after frying, with a delicate, neutral flavor and a subtle grainy note that complements the fillings well. Their soft, pliable structure makes it easy to wrap ingredients, and when heated, they become more aromatic and slightly buttery. Nutritional values depend on the recipe, but a typical large tortilla contains about 300–330 kcal per 100 g, with a predominance of carbohydrates (50–60 g), a moderate amount of protein (8–10 g), fat (5–8 g), and a variable amount of fiber (2–6 g); they are often enriched with iron and B vitamins. They provide quick energy, and when combined with vegetables and lean protein, they create a balanced meal. They are great for wraps, burritos, quesadillas, tacos, as a base for pizza, or snacks. Store in the original packaging in a cool, dry place; after opening, refrigeration or freezing is recommended for longer freshness, and before serving, briefly heat them to regain flexibility.
