Smoked plum
Description
Smoked plum has an intense, sweet-and-sour flavor with a distinct smoky note and a caramelized depth; the skin takes on a dark, amber-mahogany color, while the flesh is firm, juicy, and slightly sticky. As a processed fruit, it provides fiber, potassium, as well as antioxidants and vitamins such as vitamin K and certain amounts of vitamins A and C, which support digestion, electrolyte balance, and cell protection, while containing moderate levels of natural sugars. In the kitchen, smoked plum pairs wonderfully with meat (pork, poultry, game), adds depth to cheeses, salads, sauces, and glazes, and enriches desserts and cocktails. Store it in a cool, dry place if it is vacuum-sealed, and after opening, keep it in the refrigerator in an airtight container; for longer storage, freezing or vacuum sealing can be used.
