Grapes
Description
Grapes are small, round fruits with smooth skin that come in shades of green, red, and purple; their taste can be sweet with a slight tartness, and the flesh is juicy, sometimes crunchy depending on the variety. They are visually appealing in bunches as well as an addition to a plate, giving dishes freshness and natural sweetness. Nutritionally, grapes provide primarily carbohydrates (mainly simple sugars), fiber, vitamins C and K, and strong antioxidants, including resveratrol and flavonoids, which support heart health and have anti-inflammatory properties. In the kitchen, they work well as a snack, an ingredient in salads, desserts, sauces, juices, and wines, and when dried, they become raisins. They are best stored in the refrigerator, unwashed before storing, in a breathable container or perforated bag, and consumed within a week to maintain freshness and flavor.
