Green food coloring
Description
Green food coloring is a concentrated agent that gives dishes a vibrant, intense green with minimal impact on texture; in natural versions, it may have a subtle, plant-like taste, while synthetic forms are usually neutral in flavor. The product itself provides very few calories; however, natural colorings based on chlorophyll, spirulina, or spinach contain antioxidants, trace amounts of vitamins, and minerals that can support overall diet quality, although they do not replace whole food products. Green coloring is effective in decorations, cakes, icings, pasta, cocktails, and sauces, where it enhances color without overpowering flavor. It should be stored in a sealed container in a cool, dry, and dark place, and liquid versions should be kept in the refrigerator and used before the expiration date.
