White wine
Description
White wine typically has a light golden to straw color and a clear consistency; its flavor ranges from dry, citrusy, and apple notes to floral hints and richer, buttery, and oaky aromas in aged wines. In the kitchen, it works excellently for deglazing pans, in cream and butter sauces, risottos, marinades for fish and poultry, and light vinaigrettes — it enhances the freshness of dishes and develops aromas without overwhelming. In terms of nutritional value, white wine primarily provides calories from alcohol and sugars, contains small amounts of polyphenols and antioxidants; moderate consumption is associated with certain cardiovascular benefits, but it does not replace a healthy diet. Bottles should be stored in a dark, cool place with a stable temperature; serve slightly chilled. Once opened, store in the refrigerator tightly closed and consume within 3–5 days (sparkling products lose their bubbles more quickly).
