Fresh garlic (crushed)
Description
Fresh crushed garlic has an intense, sharp, and slightly spicy aroma, along with a creamy, moist texture and a light white to yellowish hue. Crushing releases allicin, which is responsible for the strong smell and characteristic flavor that softens with heat treatment. Nutritionally, garlic is low in calories and contains vitamin C, vitamin B6, manganese, as well as sulfur compounds and antioxidants. Regular, moderate consumption may support the immune system, have antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects, and positively influence lipid profiles and blood pressure. In the kitchen, crushed garlic is perfect for sauces, marinades, dressings, soups, meat, fish, and vegetable dishes, as well as a finishing touch to enhance flavor and aroma. Store in a tightly sealed container in the refrigerator and use within 1–3 days for optimal aroma; it can also be portioned and frozen. If stored in oil, keep in the refrigerator and use within a week, never leave at room temperature due to the risk of botulism.
