White bean
Description
The "Piękny Jaś" white bean is a creamy, slightly oval seed with a smooth skin and a delicate, slightly nutty flavor with a buttery note. In the kitchen, it is considered a versatile ingredient due to its neutral color and pleasant texture when cooked, becoming soft but not easily falling apart. It is an excellent source of plant protein, fiber, folic acid, iron, and potassium with low fat content, supporting satiety, stabilizing blood sugar levels, and promoting heart health and gut flora. It works well in soups, stews, casseroles, salads, and spreads, as well as a base for vegetarian one-pot dishes; it pairs well with garlic, thyme, tomatoes, and olive oil. Store dry beans in a sealed, cool, and dark place, and cooked beans in the refrigerator for 3–4 days or freeze for about 3 months; soaking before cooking is recommended to reduce cooking time and improve digestibility.
