Fillet of Baltic cod

Description

Baltic cod fillet has a delicate, mild flavor and white, slightly shiny flesh with a firm yet easily flaking texture, making it suitable for many cooking techniques. It is a source of lean, high-quality protein, contains unsaturated omega-3 fatty acids (though less than fatty fish), B vitamins (especially B12), as well as selenium, iodine, and phosphorus, which support the cardiovascular system, brain functions, and proper thyroid activity. The fillet is excellent when baked, pan-fried, steamed, in soups, or fish cakes, and pairs well with citrus, herbs, butter, and light sauces. Store in the refrigerator for 1–2 days at a temperature of up to 4°C or freeze tightly wrapped (-18°C); thaw slowly in the refrigerator and avoid refreezing the raw product.
