Description

Purple gel food coloring is a thick, shiny concentrate with an intense, saturated shade of purple, usually nearly tasteless or with a very subtle flavor corresponding to its base (sugar or water). As a product used in small amounts, it has virtually zero nutritional value and low calorie content; if it is based on natural extracts (anthocyanins from berries, beetroot), it may provide trace antioxidants, but in typical portions, the health benefits are marginal.
