Description

Greek yogurt is thick, creamy, and slightly tangy, with a snow-white color and a velvety texture that adds richness to dishes without overpowering flavor. Full-fat versions are creamier and more filling, while fat-free ones have a more pronounced, fresh taste. From a nutritional standpoint, it is a good source of protein, calcium, and B vitamins, and also contains probiotics that support gut flora; full-fat versions provide healthy fats, while lean versions have fewer calories. For people with lactose intolerance, it is often better tolerated than milk due to the partial removal of whey. As an optional ingredient, it works well in sauces, dips, dressings, marinades, desserts, and smoothies, as well as a substitute for mayonnaise or cream in baking and cold dishes. Store in the refrigerator at 4°C, preferably in a tightly sealed container, and consume within 5–7 days of opening; freezing is possible but changes the texture and requires re-mixing after thawing.
