2% Milk
Description
2% milk has a delicate, slightly creamy taste and a uniform white color, with a subtle sweetness typical of lactose; the consistency is liquid and pleasant in the mouth, softer than skim milk but less heavy than whole milk. In nutritional values, it provides about 50 kcal per 100 ml, around 3–3.5 g of high-quality protein, 2 g of fat, and about 4.8 g of carbohydrates (lactose), as well as significant amounts of calcium and B vitamins; it is a good choice for maintaining bone health and supplementing micronutrients with moderate calorie content. In the kitchen, it works universally as a drink, an addition to coffee, cereals, smoothies, soups, sauces, and cakes; it combines well in creamy dishes, although it does not create as stable a foam as cream when whipped. It should be stored in the refrigerator at a temperature of 0–4°C, and once opened, it is best to use it within 3–5 days, not leaving it out of refrigeration for long, and shake before use; for UHT milk, follow the expiration date and the manufacturer's label.
