Rose jam
Description
Rose jam is a delicate, silky preserve ranging in color from light pink to deep crimson, with an intense floral aroma and subtle sweetness with a hint of citrus. It primarily consists of simple sugars, but the preservation of rose petals also provides antioxidants, polyphenols, and small amounts of vitamin C and anti-inflammatory compounds that support immunity and soothe throat irritations; however, it is important to remember the high caloric content of the product due to the added sugar. The culinary uses of rose jam are versatile: it pairs excellently with bread, soft and creamy cheeses, as an addition to yogurts, ice creams, and baked goods, as well as an ingredient in glazes for poultry or game, and an elegant element in desserts and beverages. Store it in tightly sealed, sterile jars in a cool, dark place; once opened, keep it in the refrigerator and consume within a few weeks, avoiding contamination when scooping.
