Fresh dill
Description
Fresh dill is a delicate green herb with thin, feathery leaves and a fresh, slightly anise-citrusy aroma with a hint of sweetness. Its flavor is subtle and refreshing, adding lightness and a pleasant scent to dishes, while its decorative feathery leaves enhance the aesthetics on the plate. Dill provides vitamins A, C, and K, as well as minerals such as calcium, iron, and potassium. It also contains fiber, flavonoids, and essential oils (including anethole), which have antioxidant properties and support digestion. In the kitchen, it is used for fish, egg dishes, salads, soups, yogurt sauces, and marinades, where it highlights the freshness of the dishes. To preserve its aroma, store dill in the refrigerator wrapped in a damp paper towel or in a glass of water covered with plastic wrap; it can also be frozen when finely chopped.
