Mango
Description
Mango is a juicy, oval fruit with smooth, often green-red-yellow skin and intensely golden-orange flesh, which can be creamy or slightly fibrous; the taste is sweet-tropical, with floral notes and a hint of mild acidity. From a nutritional standpoint, mango provides vitamin C and A, fiber, potassium, as well as antioxidants and digestive enzymes, which support immunity, eye health, digestion, and improve skin condition while being moderately low in calories. In the kitchen, mango works well in desserts and smoothies, as well as in salsas, chutneys, salads, or dishes with fish and poultry, adding freshness and sweetness. Unripe fruits ripen at room temperature, speeding up in a paper bag; ripe ones should be stored in the refrigerator for 3–5 days, and cut ones should be kept tightly in a container or frozen as puree or pieces.
