Full-fat coconut milk (min. 17% fat)

🌱 Vegetarian 🌿 Vegan

Description

Coconut milk (full-fat, min. 17% fat) has a thick, creamy consistency and a snow-white color with a delicate, sweet-nutty aroma of coconut. The taste is distinctly coconut, but milder than in flakes, and when chilled, a layer of cream may separate. It is calorie-dense and rich in saturated fats, primarily medium-chain fatty acids (MCT), including lauric acid, while containing little protein and carbohydrates. It also provides trace amounts of vitamins and minerals, such as manganese, copper, and iron, and serves as a plant-based substitute for cream, fitting into a diet in moderation. In the kitchen, it is used for curries, soups, sauces, desserts, and smoothies, where it adds creaminess and an exotic aroma, as well as a base for vegan dishes and baking. Store in a cool, dry place until opened; after opening, keep in the refrigerator, preferably in a sealed container, and use within 3–5 days or freeze for longer storage.
