Parsley (for garnish)
Description
Parsley is a fresh, intensely green herb with delicately frilled leaves and a fresh, slightly peppery, herbal aroma with a citrus note that brightens dishes both visually and in flavor. It is low in calories, rich in vitamins C, K, and A, folic acid, and minerals such as iron and potassium; it also contains antioxidants that support immunity, bone health, and the circulatory system, as well as aid digestion. As a garnish, parsley pairs perfectly with soups, sauces, fish, meat, egg dishes, and potatoes, as well as salads and pastas, adding freshness and flavor contrast. Store it in the refrigerator unwashed, wrapped in a damp paper towel in a bag or placed in a jar of water; use it within a few days, and for longer storage, freeze it finely chopped in oil or in ice cubes.
