Grated Parmesan cheese

Description

Grated Parmesan is an intense, aromatic cheese with a distinct umami flavor, slightly nutty and salty character; it has a hard, grainy texture and a light golden color, and thanks to its fine grating, it spreads and melts easily. As an addition, it enhances the flavor of dishes, pairing perfectly with pasta, risotto, soups, salads, casseroles, and as a topping when serving. Nutritionally, Parmesan is a concentrated source of protein, calcium, phosphorus, and vitamins A and B12, which support bone health and muscle functions, but it also contains a significant amount of sodium, so it is advisable to consume it in moderation. Grated cheese is best stored in an airtight container or wrapped in parchment and foil in the refrigerator, away from strong odors; it can also be frozen for a short term, keeping in mind that the texture may change.
