Description

Salted herring in the form of fillets has an intense, distinctly salty flavor with a rich, velvety texture and silvery-gray flesh. The aroma is characteristic, fishy, but pleasant; the fillets can be sold in salt, brine, or oil, which affects their appearance and degree of saltiness.
