12% cream
Description
12% sour cream has a delicate, creamy taste with a slight tang and a smooth, whitish consistency, which is less fatty than full-fat creams, but rich enough to add silkiness to dishes. The nutritional values focus on fats (about 12%), energy, and small amounts of protein and calcium; it also provides fat-soluble vitamins, primarily A and partially D, thus supporting the absorption of these nutrients in moderate amounts. 12% sour cream is suitable for enriching soups and sauces, as a base for dips, in salads, desserts, and cold toppings; it is better to avoid long cooking at high temperatures to prevent curdling. It should be stored in the refrigerator at a temperature of 2–6°C, in its original packaging or tightly sealed after opening, and is best consumed within 3–5 days; freezing alters its structure.
