Smoked paprika powder
Description
Smoked paprika is a finely ground powder with an intense, deep red color and a distinct smoky note that can combine with mild sweetness or a spicy accent depending on the variety. It has an earthy, slightly sweet, and aromatic smoky flavor, which adds depth to dishes without adding moisture or fat. It is most commonly used to season meats, fish, braised vegetables, stews, sauces, marinades, and dishes from Spanish cuisine, as well as being a striking addition to eggs and soups. Nutritionally, it is low in calories, rich in carotenoids (vitamin A), vitamin C, and antioxidants, as well as anti-inflammatory compounds, which support vision, immunity, and metabolism. To preserve its aroma, store it in an airtight container in a cool, dry, and dark place, away from moisture and heat sources; the optimal shelf life for aroma is about 6–12 months.
