Description
18% sour cream is a creamy, smooth product with a mild, slightly tangy taste and a light cream color, which adds a velvety consistency to dishes without excessive greasiness. Due to its moderate fat content, it maintains good stability when gently heated and easily combines with other ingredients, which is why it is often used as an optional ingredient to achieve creaminess. In terms of nutritional values, sour cream provides energy from fat, certain amounts of fat-soluble vitamins (A, D, K), and calcium; however, it is quite caloric, so it is advisable to use it in moderation. It works well in sauces, creamy soups, pasta sauces, dips, casseroles, and desserts, as well as an addition to salads or shellfish dishes. Store in the refrigerator at a temperature of 2–6°C, tightly sealed; once opened, consume within a few days and adhere to the expiration date.
