30% cream
Description
30% cream is a creamy, smooth liquid with a rich, slightly sweet flavor and a light cream color, which whips into a stable, velvety foam. Due to its fat content, it adds depth of flavor and a silky texture to dishes, easily blending with other ingredients. Nutritionally, cream is a concentrated source of energy and saturated fats, providing fat-soluble vitamins, especially A and D, as well as small amounts of protein and calcium. In moderate amounts, it aids in the absorption of nutrients and provides a feeling of fullness, although it should be used in moderation due to its calorie content. In the kitchen, 30% cream works well in sauces, cream soups, desserts, ganache, ice creams, and coffee; it whips well for creams and stabilizes casseroles. It should be stored in the refrigerator at around 4°C, in its original, tightly sealed packaging; once opened, it should be used within 3–5 days. For longer storage, it can be frozen, keeping in mind the possible separation after thawing.
