Sriracha sauce
Description
Sriracha is a smooth, bright red sauce with a distinct, spicy flavor from chili peppers, complemented by hints of garlic, vinegar, and subtle sweetness. It has a liquid consistency and an intense aroma that adds heat to dishes without overwhelming other flavors. Nutritionally, it is low in calories and contains small amounts of vitamin C and antioxidants from chili; the active ingredient capsaicin may support metabolism and have pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory effects, but the sauce often contains salt and sugar, so it is best used in moderation. Sriracha works well as an addition to dips, mayonnaise, marinades, ramen, eggs, burgers, and Asian dishes, pairing perfectly with richer flavors. Store it in a tightly sealed bottle, preferably in the refrigerator after opening, where it will stay fresh for several months; it's a good idea to shake it before use, as it may separate.
