Technical spirit (denatured alcohol)

🌱 Vegetarian 🌿 Vegan

Description

Technical spirit, known as denatured alcohol, is a colorless, volatile liquid with a sharp, solvent-like odor and a very bitter, almost suffocating taste; it is not suitable for consumption. It does not provide nutritional value and has no health benefits when ingested — it is toxic, can cause poisoning, liver damage, and central nervous system damage, and irritates the respiratory tract and skin. In the kitchen, denatured alcohol is used solely outside of contact with food, mainly as a strong solvent and degreaser for equipment, for disinfecting surfaces, and as fuel for camping stoves or warmers, never for preparing drinks or dishes. It should be stored in a tightly closed, labeled original container, in a cool, well-ventilated place, away from sources of fire and children, in accordance with regulations regarding flammable substances.
