Frozen cranberry
Description
Frozen cranberries are small, intensely red fruits with a firm texture once thawed, featuring a distinctly tart, slightly sour taste and a grainy structure. They are low in calories, rich in fiber, vitamin C, and antioxidants, primarily proanthocyanidins, which may support urinary tract health and have anti-inflammatory effects, as well as positively influence cardiovascular profile. In the kitchen, they work well in sauces, chutneys, compotes, smoothies, baking, salads, and dishes with poultry and pork, adding a fresh acidity and aroma. They should be stored in the freezer in an airtight container or bag, preferably portioned before freezing; once thawed, refreezing is not recommended, and safe thawing occurs in the refrigerator or directly in the dish while cooking.
