Description

French upside-down apple tart - caramelized apples under a flaky crust. Apples sautéed in caramel made from butter and sugar, covered with dough and baked to golden perfection. When flipped, it reveals a shiny, caramel top. Served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or crème fraîche. A classic dessert from Lamotte-Beuvron that has won over the whole world.

Peel the apples, quarter them, and remove the cores.

In an ovenproof dish (24cm), melt the butter with the sugar.

Cook over medium heat until a light caramel forms.

We cover with the rolled-out dough, folding the edges inward.
