Preparation steps
We drizzle with lemon juice and sprinkle with cinnamon.
In an ovenproof dish (24cm), melt the butter with the sugar.
Cook over medium heat until a light caramel forms.
We arrange the apples tightly in the caramel, frying for 10 minutes.
We cover with the rolled-out dough, folding the edges inward.
Prick the dough with a fork, bake for 25 minutes at 200°C.
Let it cool for 5 minutes, then turn it out onto a plate. Serve with ice cream.
Fun Fact
Tarte Tatin was created by the Tatin sisters in the 19th century, and its popularity grew after they accidentally flipped the traditional apple tart recipe.

Tips
Serve the Tatin tart on elegant plates, preferably warm. Garnish it with fresh mint and serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side. It pairs perfectly with a cup of coffee or tea.
Store leftover Tarte Tatin in an airtight container in the refrigerator, where they can stay fresh for 2-3 days. To reheat, place them in the oven at 180°C for about 10 minutes, until warm.
