Milk chocolate
Description
Milk chocolate is characterized by a creamy, smooth texture and a sweet, mild flavor with distinct notes of milk and vanilla; visually, it has a light brown, glossy surface and melts easily in the mouth. Its composition is dominated by cocoa, sugar, milk powder, and fats; it provides energy, protein, and calcium, as well as small amounts of magnesium and iron. It contains antioxidants derived from cocoa, although in smaller quantities than dark chocolate, so health benefits occur with moderate consumption, while it is important to keep in mind the sugar and saturated fat content. In the kitchen, milk chocolate is perfect for confectionery: cookies, coatings, ganache, creams, warm desserts, and as an addition to muesli, nuts, and fruits. Store it in a cool (around 15–18°C), dry, and shaded place, away from strong odors and moisture; after opening, close the packaging to avoid loss of aroma and the "bloom" effect.
