Hot coffee
Description
Hot coffee is an aromatic brew with a dark brown color and a clear crema, depending on the brewing method, with a flavor ranging from bitter-fruity to chocolate-nutty with a distinct roasted note. From a nutritional standpoint, black coffee contains virtually no calories, provides caffeine, and offers polyphenols and antioxidants that, when consumed in moderation, support alertness, metabolism, and may contribute to reducing the risk of certain chronic diseases. In the kitchen, hot coffee pairs wonderfully as a standalone beverage, a base for milk drinks and cocktails, an ingredient in desserts like tiramisu or ice cream, and an addition to sauces and marinades that adds depth of flavor. It is best to store coffee in an airtight, opaque container away from moisture, heat, and light; beans retain their aroma longer than ground coffee, and brewed coffee is best consumed fresh or stored chilled for up to 48 hours.
