Gruszka (np. konferencja)
Description
Conference pear is a classic, conical pear with a greenish-yellow skin dotted with small brown spots and a sweet, honey-like aroma. The flesh is creamy, juicy, and slightly grainy, becoming soft and very sweet when ripe, while retaining a pleasant crunch when cooler. It is a source of dietary fiber (especially pectin), vitamin C, potassium, and antioxidants, has low energy density, supports digestion, feelings of fullness, and heart health, and helps control blood sugar levels due to its fiber content. In the kitchen, it works well fresh in salads and snacks, pairs excellently with cheeses and cold cuts, and is suitable for baking, stewing, cooking for compotes, jams, and as an addition to meat dishes. To extend its shelf life, store unripe pears at room temperature until they soften, then in the refrigerator in the fruit drawer (0–4°C), do not wash before storing, and keep away from rapidly ripening fruits when you want to slow down the ripening process.
