Description
Natural unsweetened cocoa powder is an intense, deeply chocolatey powder with a dark brown color, distinctly bitter, slightly earthy taste, and strong cocoa aroma, which, when used in moderation, enriches dishes without adding sweetness. It is rich in fiber, magnesium, iron, and antioxidants (flavonoids), and also contains protein and healthy fats, which support immunity, circulation, and proper muscle function, and may improve mood due to theobromine; due to its caloric content, it should be used in moderation. In the kitchen, it pairs well with cakes, cookies, creams, beverages, smoothies, sweet-savory sauces, ice creams, and also with spicy dishes (e.g., mole, chili), adding depth of flavor.
