Natural cocoa
Description
Natural cocoa is a finely ground, non-alkalized powder with a deep brown color and an intense, slightly bitter taste with distinct fruity and earthy notes. The aroma reveals pure, raw chocolate, and in the mouth, it provides a full, slightly drying sensation that pairs well with sugar and fat. Nutritionally, cocoa provides fiber, magnesium, iron, as well as polyphenols and flavonoids with antioxidant properties, which may support heart health and improve mood with moderate consumption. It is used in baking, hot chocolate, smoothies, creams, mole sauces, and marinades for meats, where it enhances flavor. To preserve its aroma and properties, store cocoa in an airtight container in a cool, dry, dark place, away from strong odors and moisture.
