Orange liqueur
Description
Orange liqueur is an aromatic, sweet beverage with a distinct, intense note of orange peel and juice; its color ranges from clear to amber, and the texture is smooth and slightly oily due to the essential oils. Nutritionally, it is a source of calories mainly from alcohol and sugar, containing small amounts of aromatic compounds and antioxidants from citrus peel, but the health benefits are limited — it should be consumed in moderation due to its high sugar and alcohol content. In the kitchen, orange liqueur pairs well with cocktails, desserts (sauces, creams, flambéed fruits), baked goods, and meat and fish dishes as an ingredient in marinades and glazes, enhancing citrus flavors. It should be stored in a tightly sealed bottle in a cool, dark place away from heat sources; due to its alcohol and sugar content, it is stable, but once opened, the aroma may weaken over time, so it is best to use it within 12–24 months.
