Vanilla ice cream (for serving)
Description
Vanilla ice cream is characterized by a delicate, creamy flavor with a distinct note of real vanilla and a velvety, smooth texture. Its color ranges from ivory to light yellow, and its appearance is dense and slightly glossy, making it appealing to serve on its own or as an accompaniment. Nutritionally, vanilla ice cream provides easily digestible calories, carbohydrates, and fat, as well as protein, calcium, and fat-soluble vitamins (A, D) from milk. It is a good source of energy and calcium, but it is advisable to consume it in moderation due to its sugar and saturated fat content. In the kitchen, it pairs wonderfully with warm desserts, fruits, cakes, chocolate sauces, coffee (affogato), and serves as a base for milkshakes and ice cream sandwiches. Store in the freezer at a temperature of about −18°C, in an airtight container and away from strong odors; before serving, it is best to take it out for 5–10 minutes to soften slightly.
