Ground pork
Description
Pork minced meat has a delicate, slightly sweet flavor and a pinkish color with visible fibers and fat, which contribute to its juiciness. Depending on the degree of leanness, the texture can be more crumbly or creamy, making it a versatile culinary ingredient. It is a good source of high-quality protein, B vitamins (especially B12 and niacin), and minerals such as iron and zinc, contributing to muscle building and supporting the immune system; however, it is advisable to choose leaner versions for lower fat and calorie content. It is typically used for patties, meatballs, meat sauces, fillings, and stuffings, and pairs well with spices, herbs, and vegetables. Store in the refrigerator for a maximum of 1–2 days, tightly wrapped; freeze for up to 3 months, thaw in the refrigerator, and cook to an internal temperature of about 71°C.
