Ground beef
Description
Ground beef has an intense, classic beef flavor and a tender, finely ground texture; its color ranges from light red to darker depending on the degree of oxidation and fat content, with delicate marbling of fat adding juiciness. It is an excellent source of complete protein, heme iron, B vitamins (especially B12), and zinc, which supports muscle recovery, red blood cell production, and immunity, although it is important to consider the saturated fat content and consume it in moderation as part of a balanced diet. Ground beef is suitable for burgers, meatballs, Bolognese sauces, fillings, and one-pot dishes, and pairs well with onions, garlic, herbs, and spices. Store refrigerated at a temperature of up to 4°C and consume within 1–2 days of purchase, and if not used, freeze tightly packed for about 3 months; thaw in the refrigerator and cook thoroughly to a safe internal temperature.
