2% fat milk

🌱 Vegetarian

Description

2% fat milk has a creamy yet light taste and a uniform, white consistency — silkier than skim milk, but less rich than whole milk. It is slightly sweet and versatile for use both raw and in cooking. From a nutritional standpoint, it provides protein, calcium, and B vitamins, and often also vitamin D if fortified; it delivers about 45–50 kcal per 100 ml and has a reduced saturated fat content compared to whole milk. It may support bone health and muscle building, although individuals with lactose intolerance should exercise caution. In the kitchen, it works well in coffee, cereals, smoothies, sauces, soups, baking, and desserts, where a lighter effect is desired compared to whole milk. Store in a cool place (in the fridge below 4°C), tightly sealed, use within 3–5 days after opening, and consume before the expiration date; do not leave at room temperature for long, freezing alters the structure.
